I try to bring this into Second Life to educate people about this tradition. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Weiberfastnacht takes place on February 08, 2024. Weiberfastnacht is a popular day for women in Germany during the Karnival season. Among other established customs, on that day women cut off the ties of men, which are seen as a symbol of men's status. The men wear the stumps of their ties and get a little kiss as compensation. Depending on the region, the day is also known as a "Fat Thursday", which refers to the consumption of fatty foods at Karnival. Weiberdonnnerstag marks the start of the street carnival and always takes place on Thursday before Ash Wednesday.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEissfeDagwsdb-xtFO2RiZydcU6qKJ4LuuYB9L93MZWrcwOHyQRUmyQsR19ztjHxB1zMgSDFvLX09V1doX5BIvrTv2r9J4VhCt8r_KH8oE5oxv9-xxZ4bUbtJPcvC-BpsxIZXR9Oxvun5x3BxwUvRW0flPdPp9b3AyW6Ty04VPb6KXpHE-4GLM81r17/s4283/Snapshot_623-001.jpg" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2255" data-original-width="4283" height="336" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEissfeDagwsdb-xtFO2RiZydcU6qKJ4LuuYB9L93MZWrcwOHyQRUmyQsR19ztjHxB1zMgSDFvLX09V1doX5BIvrTv2r9J4VhCt8r_KH8oE5oxv9-xxZ4bUbtJPcvC-BpsxIZXR9Oxvun5x3BxwUvRW0flPdPp9b3AyW6Ty04VPb6KXpHE-4GLM81r17/w662-h336/Snapshot_623-001.jpg" width="662" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The men here at the <a href="http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Monty/186/107/73">Basement Club</a> agreed to have their neckties cut in exchange for a little kiss. Unlike dating people who often have meetings, there will be many things that trigger conflict. </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #212529;">Of course, virtual dating also has several shortcomings, especially for those of you who love language and physical touch. You definitely don't feel at home and aren't comfortable having love relationships online all the time. There may also be an issue with truth and honesty. So, an old friend in Second Life for over 11 years sent me a message that he now has to delete us as friends in Second Life.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMx1RH9VC2BFs89GmPAPB1gL-ihoqK4jKtnaxJy58gTZ-QsUReVuje6rYCctO4kikigT_JzkU4Hu701UGx7YC0_oJrldqK-H6BK1NSJNnUHeHZFJeODXtgh75vgFkhnvySacCUduRuTCKUKKf4PB_lPKmPagkcznoI7grjJtPuH3S_fosAkzCqI0X2/s2283/Snapshot_270-003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2283" data-original-width="1919" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMx1RH9VC2BFs89GmPAPB1gL-ihoqK4jKtnaxJy58gTZ-QsUReVuje6rYCctO4kikigT_JzkU4Hu701UGx7YC0_oJrldqK-H6BK1NSJNnUHeHZFJeODXtgh75vgFkhnvySacCUduRuTCKUKKf4PB_lPKmPagkcznoI7grjJtPuH3S_fosAkzCqI0X2/w336-h400/Snapshot_270-003.jpg" width="336" /></a></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Apparently, he gave his SL partner his password so she could redo his avatar. She told him she did not like it and that he was friends with me. I mean I only exchange 5 words with the man in a year. </span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">It is ok I honored the request but I also deleted and blocked him in real life. I do not need a person on my friend list who is so desperate to have a partner and have her control him. That is kind of narcissistic and insecure. Come to think of it, he was never very honest when it came to women and would lie.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><span style="letter-spacing: -0.4px;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Some people do not consider snooping to be controlling behavior, but in reality, snooping can be a sign of a very controlling girlfriend. While you should never try to hide anything from your partner, and you should always be honest and truthful, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to tell your partner every little bit about every single day. If your girlfriend is so controlling that she snoops on your phone or goes through your things to find out what she missed, that can be a sign of controlling behavior.</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="letter-spacing: -0.4px;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white; letter-spacing: 0.11px;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Your controlling girlfriend may not agree with all the people in your social circle. She may even discourage you from spending time with your family, especially if she senses any distrust from them towards her. Relax and reflect and do not worry about the upcoming year. <br />With all these nasty superstitions, you may want a lucky charm to ward off any potentially unpleasant stuff. Germans consider the following items as bringers of good fortune:<br />1. Chimney sweeps (Schornsteinfeger) – You may have to settle for a miniature likeness, sold with clover pots around New Year’s in Germany.<br />2. Ladybugs (Am.), ladybirds (Br.) (Marienkäfer) – Not only are these insects good at devouring aphids, but they are also considered lucky – perhaps because they are so helpful and beautiful.<br />3. A lucky pig (Glücksschwein) – It doesn’t have to be a real live pig. A wood or plastic piggy charm will do just fine. Pigs were once a symbol of wealth and prosperity. If you had pigs, you were doing well. I found out that Mitropa was a catering company best known for having managed sleeping and dining cars on different German railways for most of the 20th century. Second Life helps me in many ways to make <a href="http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Monty/204/6/79">the Retreat</a> look festive, to host different events, and hopefully to bring some laughter and joy to people.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">We can't always look at all the dreary events that happen around us, because there are so many more cheerful things that happen unnoticed (or we take for granted).
