I am not sure why people in the USA say "Happy Memorial Day"? Is it not the day when we remember those who have fallen? I am a big supporter of the troops and I have done my share of somber moments when the one you have a relationship with volunteered for another deployment. I have seen those wives who have lost their loved ones and no words I could say would make it any better.
I have looked up towards the sky and wondered why the man who left and then returned was not the man I knew. You see some may not have fallen completely, some may have seen things that we can never understand and as a result, they have died ( not physically but their soul has).
I have learned to eat meals in solitude because the ones we loved have gone and they have given that ultimate sacrifice. Yet so many are still out there and suffer. Their families suffer. We all suffer from the great loss of men and women who are now gone and those who are partial with us. Let us never forget them!!!
So wave that flag a little higher today and smile and that is a "Happy Memorial Day" :)

Happy REZZ Day Greg!!!
So...we celebrated Greg's Rezz day a day early...he is now 3 years old and that is old in Second Life....lol
But seriously, that means I have known Greg for three years now because he was only 1 week old when I ran into him on that silly boat.
Thank you to those who came and stopped by and listened to my set tonight and celebrating Greg's Rezz day at the same time.
We managed to have a little time together after all the guests left.
Dizzi Popstar makes the audience "like it"
All the way from Munich, Germany the talented musician Dizzi Popstar performed at the Basement Club today. The audiences really enjoyed his songs.
For those who got to hear him sing it truly was a treat. He is really that talented and that good. I am so lucky to have run into him at the Blake Sea.
Thank you Dizzi, we will talk soon.

Runaround Sue's
Thank you to all those who supported me and Greg at Runaround Sue's. We made our first debut there as DJ and Host for the 9-11 shift...and then every Friday.
Of course, nothing goes exactly smooth. The dilemma was we never took a landmark when we got hired, so I found an old landmark I had that was Runaround Sue's...well that is what I thought, but it turned out to be another Club playing the same style of music. I even messaged the DJ and said "Hello I am checking in " and Greg had already sent out the notice with this landmark. Just then it hit us: This is NOT the place where we suppose to be at.
OMG....well I apologized to the DJ and off we went and he laughed his ass off. We now have the correct landmark and we have the correct information and we made it there.Whew!!!

The Girl Code
Really? Whoever thought of the Girl Code is a total moron. I think it was the mega bitch of all who created it.At least that is what I think. I saw a few that made some sense but the rest of those rules are not and nope I am not gonna follow them. Bad enough there are Moron guys and now you want me to listen to a mega bitch. Do these rules even apply in Second Life?
I suppose we have to establish the rules first so we can judge them for ourselves. Here is what I found and some of these are ridiculous:
3) If you just met a guy and know absolutely nothing about him, but need to refer to him during 'girl talk' you use one example of who he is, something he has, or what he does, and he becomes... that guy.
(Ex. "The Camaro guy", "The Trainer dude", "The Four a.m. in the Taxi Guy")
Would he not have a name?
5) You are never in any case to date a friends ex or a guy who she was really into.
Exception: If he's one of those guys who every girl likes.
You mean never ever? Ya right.
8) No girl is to ever hang out with the boyfriend of a friend without the friend present. If permission to is granted there should be at least 3 other people with you.
I already know some girls in SL who broke that rule...lol
10) No girl shall wear the same outfit or perfume as a friend is they will knowingly be in the same place.
But what if it was on sale?
You want to read them up go ahead and see the Official Girl Code Guide
I got to have a drink after all that nonsense...have a great one but do tell me what you think of the girl code in the comments...

You know you're old when...
So how do we know when we are old? Just because we are tired could not mean we are old. I have a 19-year-old in Real Life and she says she is tired. I know for a fact she is not as old as me. Besides I just remember being that age and all of a suddenly I am "?" years old.
I like the definition in the urban dictionary: Old is when its more expensive to buy the candles, than the cake to put it on.
The dictionary also had a description of the term "Olds" which said it is a Derogatory term for older people (or parents) incapable of operating seemingly simple technology such as Snapchat.
Listen up you younger folks...we have knowledge of technology and why would we need Snapchat or Facebook ( which is a stalker's paradise by the way) when we have Second Life. I am so glad there are fewer young ones here because us "Olds" are badass when it comes to technology and you know you are just trippin' when you realize we are right:)
Perhaps Second Life attracts so many "older" citizens because you can dance the night away without a sweat or you can run a mile and never feel tired. How I ever walk in high heels all over Second Life makes me wonder, but so far my feet have not been sore.
Ok, I better get me some Geritol so I can stay awake in Second Life.

Dancing with...well let's say under the stars :)
Of course, I was thinking since I am always brewing up something in my mind about where dancing was first used?
I truly believe that as soon as humans figured out that dancing gives some kind of pleasure the dance was here to stay. In every generation, there has been some kind of dance or another and even rituals have been created around the dance.
For crying out loud, people invented a show called "Dancing with the stars" and I guess it is not like the picture above. Another confusing word "star" rather than the true meaning of the celestial orb it is, it means celebrity. So much for me and Greg, we are neither when it comes to the world of Second Life.
So dance can be a non-verbal expression of oneself. I will have to explore some more possibilities about this because we sure do a lot of this "dance" in second life. It must be important to the avatars.
I do like to invite everybody who comes on Fridays to the Basement Club to hear DJ Riker ( who will not be here this Friday ) to see the special event below:
I will have a special teleport that evening to the Basement Ballroom which will be under the stars. Let us express some dancing or just come and watch and enjoy the music

The world according to the crate!!!
I think the crate is a bait so when you are late and you cannot wait you go straight to the crate.
I mean seriously, I was thinking tonight, what is it with these crates at the Club? So I decided to try them out and sit on them. Is it the cushions or the aroma from the coffee beans that lures the so-called Lounger to this spot?
I suppose the view is pretty good...not bad at all...the definition for crate is that the beauty behind crate is that it was created to have no meaning, you can use it any way you want, the intention is just to get everyone to say it! common uses include a way of pointing out you dont care, someone tells you good news, or just saying it at a random time! the fun part is, whenever you hear the word, you have to clap above your head, this shows the awareness of the word! (urban dictionary)English can be so confusing!
So that explains it why an alien sits on them...Got it!!!
Likka, Greg, Dandy and Harley Q after the set on Monday Night |
Come and try it out one of these days. (at the CLUB)

The wonders of the sea
In this case, we are talking about the Blake Sea in Second Life and yes it is full of wonders because you never know what you may encounter.
For example, I was taking the "Jungfrau" out for a sail on a Sunday morning when you would think the sea is calm and empty. It was quite the opposite and there were many things and creatures out and about.
The sea is a wondrous and magical place. It is a world of light and shadow, full of amazing creatures that stimulate the imagination. Here, within the waves, can be found both the beautiful and the bizarre.
One of the natives here at Sirens Isle in his natural existence is a rare gem to find. This was nothing like I expected a siren to look like. I have learned in school that in Greek mythology, the Sirens (Greek singular: Σειρήν Seirēn; Greek plural: Σειρῆνες Seirēnes) were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

I am the siren
I shipwreck soldiers
Leaving them stranded on salty shores
I sing sweet songs that can turn a bitter heart
Into sugar.
I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders.
Surely the next characters I encountered here were not natives to the isle. They looked like they just came out of a Japanese anime film.
...sing with me my siren song,
follow me from dusk til dawn...
follow me from dusk til dawn...

Baja Norte
Some things do not need a lot of words to explain what you are feeling. You just feel it and seize the moment in time.
Greg and I were lucky to steal a moment like this finally for ourselves.
If you never have been to Baja Norte you should go and enjoy this beautiful place.
The sound of the waves crashing along the shoreline is very soothing to the ears and body. You don't have to wait for summer because this place is open all year round. Simply beautiful :)

What happens at the Basement does not stay at the Basement...
The Basement Club is one of those places where you can be who you want to be. We don't judge you. Whether you are a wild looking furry or a pig riding cowboy, it's all good. Be prepared to be shown on the blog for the world to see, no worries I will make you look good.
Let's back up for a second here...pig riding cowboy?
Poor "Babe" got violated I think. You judge for yourself here???
Babe the pig is our mascot at the Basement Club and he even lets us play a game called "What did Babe eat?" for some cash prizes. You never know when he swallowed some kind of thing or something, so stop by often here. The Basement Club is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and is also available for private parties and wedding receptions.

...I'd find you sooner!
So I am flying around Second Life in Air Likka ( Oh wait! Who is flying this plane? We are going down....) as I am slowly giving in to the waves of slumber and I close my eyes.
So, I felt like in the poem by William Wordsworth:
So, I felt like in the poem by William Wordsworth:
A slumber did my spirit seal;
I had no human fears:
She seemed a thing that could not feel
The touch of earthly years.
No motion has she now, no force;
She neither hears nor sees;
Rolled round in earth's diurnal course,
With rocks, and stones, and trees.
And then I land here:
The abyss of darkness and a long tunnel of who knows where it would go. You never know here in Second Life what you might see, it is so much like Real Life and no wonder, it was created by humans. I have many friends who just do not get this at all and think I play this game for hours and hours. Well, in a way I do, but it is not a game. It is a virtual world and where the avatar has a human attached to the other side.
So I am walking the tunnel of the unknown because I am attached to a human on the other side and for now his real life is a bit out of whack. Do I stop here? Do I go on...ok just close my eyes, because I am NOT afraid of the dark.
And then as I close my eyes...you are there :)
