St Martin Airfield (SLSM)

It was a lovely afternoon to fly from Lago de Prata Airport to the small and charming destination of St. Martin Airfield.

Of course I had to negotiate again the price for this flight with Herr Kranfel. I think he settled after a few kisses and finally said " Ich nimm' Dich mit".

Just to make sure that Herr Kranfel would not run out of fuel again like the last time; I decided to try out my wings and help a little with the flying.

We did make it there in one piece.Whew!

St. Martin Airfield is a single-runway island airfield. You can read more about this here at Wikia. I hope you stop by this airport real soon and enjoy the beautiful sunset that you can see from the cafe and lounge.

I need to find some more methods of paying for new flight adventures with Herr Kranfel. I wonder if he takes chocolate as a payment? Hmmmmm....

L'Arc en Ciel

Much to see here at L'Arc en Ciel and rather than me explaining what you will see, you should come and explore. So many photo opportunities at this place.

the outer garden

This beautiful video was created by Spiral Silverstar and it shows the magical world of the "outer garden".

You get to the secret city via a teleport. I am not going to reveal it, so you should walk around the garden and find it. It will be worth it.

Second Life is a place we visit (2015) by Huckleberry Hax

This is a fascinating book for all people who have been in Second Life, live in Second Life or just want to understand what this is all about.

You get quickly drawn into this book just as it is with Second Life itself. Those who have been there and those who still are there know what I am talking about.

I think one of my favorite line in the book is when Huck writes: "...SL is all about relationships..." And I believe Huck is right. The relationships we build here in this virtual world are just as meaningful as the ones we have in the real world. I have seen residents who have been friends for many years and perhaps they have spend more time in the virtual world with their virtual friends than in the real world. How can you call that relationship virtual, well it isn't, really. It is as real as the emotions that go into it.

I hope you go read the book and the other works by Huck.
Enjoy :)

Slumber seldom comes to me (poem)

Slumber seldom comes to me
I swim below the yellow sea
When tossing and turning
Drowns me with yearning
Each drop of liquid pure
Mixing emotions de jure
Amongst the fears of life
Piercing heart s of strife
And deeper in a glass cage
Pushed by thundering rage
Neptune on the sand of white
To the sky of glorious height
Trident in the fist at right
Water elements with fright
Solitude of Pisces’ dream
I awake and scream.

Born to be Wild!!!

Don't fear the fear of not knowing where you are going, but embrace the road and let it guide you.

Riding a motorcycle is always cool unless it rains of course. I was going for a ride on Route 12 near the Retreat.

Roundtrip from Prata Airport to Second Norway Lufthavn, part 2

Finally on board the Embraer Phonom 300 and flying over the open seas to the Second Norway Lufthavn.

Herr Kranfel announced that we have 3 minutes of fuel left, however we were still about 5 sims away from landing. What? Who would fly a long distance route without fueling first? At this point I start to wonder, who is this pilot?
But hurrah, we made it on the fumes just in time and it was great to be on the ground again.

If you want to read all about Second Norway Lufthavn just click on the link. It has some amazing photographs and a ton of information. In fact if you love aviation, it has everything you want to know about Second Life Aviation.

The nice pilot "Christian" from Bull Air Airlines offered us to take a trip on their plane, but we were heading back to Prata Airport after a short stay here. And that's no Bull.

A smooth flight and we are back in the tropical forest at Lago de Prato.

You would think the adventure ends here, but no it does not. Herr Kranfel wanted to also show off his sailing skills and believe it or not you can sail from this airport to the Blake Sea and all the destinations connected from there.

For some reason we did not get far and ended up at the Sailors Cove South in the Cooper Creek Wilderness. This is also a beautiful place to explore, you have to see it and visit this place soon.

The trip ended here...and oh what a hero saving me from the croc OR is he feeding me to that hungry beast?

Roundtrip from Prata Airport to Second Norway Lufthavn, part 1

I would first recommend a good pilot because Prata Airport is located in the deep rain forest.
"you'll find a dirt runway nearly overtaken by cliffs and trees. You will be able to enjoy beautiful scenery, mini golf, horseback riding, even river kayaking. Flying lessons offered every Saturday to anyone interested in learning how to fly and about the aviation community!"

I trusted my Avi-life to Herr Kranfel who gave me a sample helicopter ride over the airport and rain forest.

I was trying to negotiate the price for this flight at the Rainforest Vacation Restaurant to the Second Norway Lufthavn with some "footsies" .

But I had to use a bit more savaged approach. After all this is the jungle out here.

The Willows

No, it is not Halloween; but groovin' at the graveyard at the Willows. What a nice bunch of people you will find here at the Willows. The theme at the Club changes every night, so if you like to wear all the costumes you collected throughout the years in SL, this is a great place to wear them.
They also have a contest board, so you could even walk away with some Linden cash.

"The Willows has been called "SL's best kept secret" ~ a welcoming venue with top-notch DJs, excellent dances for couples AND singles, and some of the nicest people you'll meet on the grid! Themes and club decor change NIGHTLY, 7 nights a week."

I want to go somewhere

I love planes and airports, even here in Second Life you can find many of them. I came across this one in a far away place.
I really feel I have to get away sometimes and it would be cool to just fly away.If you know of some cool places why don't you suggest them to me and I will travel there and post them here on the blog.
