Hold Strong!!!

Sometimes real life gets in the way, but honestly, it is not in the way it just takes turns that I did not calculate.
Last week, the power went out for 31 hours and in that time all my food that was perishable had to be thrown out. Sitting in total darkness at home gave me time to think about what is important. I came to the conclusion, it is the simple things in life.

Then the next turn came and I had to make a decision in order to keep my job to take the jab, so I did. It made me very sick almost instantly and for days I laid in bed with more time to think about what is important now? I cried, I felt the pain, and then my body fought.

And just as I got stronger to be ready, my heart broke and I cried for the Service Members who died in those violent attacks. So, I had to think again. The troubles that I have in my life are nothing compared to others. The military is particularly dear to me and my family. I lost many and they will never be forgotten.

My brother who is in Germany and works for the US ARMY near Ramstein US-AB told me when he looked into the eyes of those children that came were empty but they held on strong and now they are playing.

Please hold on strong! Unity is power and together we are more and together we will be better.

On Tuesday at 6PM SLT I will DJ at the Basement Club and I will play some songs about our country and the red, white and blue. Request your favorite...and let us honor 13 of the fallen. It is not a political rally, it is for us to be together, no matter what country you come from, no matter party you vote for, no matter what color, religion.
'til Valhalla-Semper Fi!!!

See you there :)

Imagine

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. It is ok to be a dreamer because it is magical to think of things and then make them come true. We need dreamers.
Being a dreamer does not mean being a lazy bum and just think or daydream away. Every moment is precious and valuable and dreaming about what you want can help your mental well-being. It nourishes our souls, gives us hope, and lets us pursue a purpose beyond ourselves.

John Lennon was a dreamer as he wrote the song "Imagine". Just imagine if we all come together in times like these and be at peace how much happier the planet would be.

I like to use Second Life to begin some of my planning for dreams I have. It is an amazing place where you can actually do this and with some effort be successful. I think people give up way too easily when they do not see results right away. It is human nature to want to have instant gratification.

Why not dream a little because Edgar Allen Poe said it best saying: All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

Hornswoggle

Pirates were seamen who had tired of the harsh conditions onboard naval and merchant's vessels. The conditions on those ships were truly inhuman, and piracy, which was more egalitarian, appealed to them greatly. Women were rare to be pirates, although there were a few. For the most part, these sailors thought it was bad luck to bring a woman on board.

Good thing we do not have to worry about this here in Second Life and the pirates you will find are friendly. I love the idea that when I make a theme in Second Life I go out and research it. A great way to learn about history or any subject you like. Last year I learned so much about the D.B. Cooper mystery, it was fascinating. This year I am learning a little more about pirates.

Did you know: Pirates or the ones they captured did not walk the plank, they were tied up and thrown overboard. Shiver me timbers!!!

I am excited to batten down the hatches and present my very own "The Pirates of Monte Likka Hunt" the search for the purple pearl. So be a matey and shout out to ye hearties about this loot coming up.

Enjoy the little things

Appreciating the little things in life means focusing on what brings us joy and happiness instead of those things that are negative. It means practicing gratitude for those everyday moments that are so easy to take for granted or forget. Because those little things are the things we often end up cherishing the most.

When I first came up with the title of my blog it was 10 years ago and I was instantly hooked on Second Life. What a great invention to come into this world and create and meet people and do whatever you like. It was nothing like a video game, where you have a particular goal to win a level or conquer a quest.

The little things here are the details that I get to add at my own place the Retreat. This place exists because in 2012 I bought a little parcel of 2048sqm and set a little house on it. I added the garden and everything else. The cool thing was the parcel next to me extended their land to meet up to mine so it all looked like you could walk out my gate to theirs. I remember these little things being welcomed to the neighborhood. Oh, and by the way, those neighbors are still there as well.

I never moved and instead added to the land and bought more. At one time I owned half of Monty, but then had to cut down. It was a great time to be able to just make this more beautiful every day.

The little things I enjoy is getting visitors from other residents. The Retreat is an open place that holds the gallery and the Basement Club. These days I love to hold my annual Halloween hunt and I try to make it fun. It is always FREE.
I started working on it already as I transform the entire parcel into Fall and Halloween. (Later it will be Winter and Christmas).
I live in an area in real life where these seasons do not really show every year, so it is absolutely wonderful to know that here in Second Life they are here. I love that :)

No more Gachas?

I am saddened by the idea that Gacha Machines are going to be gone. I love places like the Arcade who had gacha machines with many vendors from around the world to offer some unique items. I know there are some people who welcome this and say woohoo finally, I hate to see them go.

Isn't life a gamble? Whether in Second Life or Real Life it is all a gamble from where you get your goods. They are either good or not. Yet Second Life lets child avatars into SL. I have seen those children's avatars in Clubs and in adult sims and that is OK? I understand there are adults behind those avatars, but what kind of sicko would make a child avatar in the first place?

Then there are the names in Second Life, some are pretty sick. Why are those allowed?  As much as I love Second Life for the creativity some guidelines should be set about names and child avatars.

I am taking all my marketplace gachas out and sell them weekly for cheap. This way I get the profit for the 25L item and not half of it going to Linden Lab.
I will add new ones every day, most start at 25L...Stop by today;

Triumph or defeat is called life

I am in front of the Purple Pearl which will be the main focus of the upcoming hunt at the Retreat. Come check it out.

Life has meaning only in the struggle. Triumph or defeat is called life. So let us celebrate the struggle!

I am not here in Second Life to hook up with anybody. I have had people come and go and some endings of these relations have been struggles, but it is ok. Don't go through life, grow through life, whether that is real life or second life. It is all connected. I am not here to show off the best fashions, have the most followers on Flickr, or the most popular Club in Second Life. I am here for ME. That may sound selfish to some people, but I was told people and things cannot make me happy and that is true. Be a little selfish and love love love yourself in a world of critics and haters.

I wrote this poem some years back as part of a poetry book called The Enchantment of Life by Angel and Fisherman.

The enchantment of life must be real
nothing but truth to feel.
Then you will enjoy each quest
and live your life to the very best.
Some people cheat and lie
spread rumors that quickly fly.
They use you to get somewhere
but false glory will lose its glare.
Others are who they are not
they talk around the truth' knot.
With evil eyes and satan's ears
they sword with a painful pierce.
If you told the truth each day
sooner or later it will pay.

Want some tea?

Good will prevail in the end for sure
because liars will ill without a cure.
Look at rainbows, look at the snow
pure like angels the truth will glow.
Be the one who speaks it well
and you will not catch the spell.
Smile with joy, smile and be gay
if you tell the truth, evil will go away.
Perhaps not right away and now
but the reward will come, I told you how.
Put the light into your heart
keep your soul clean from sour tart,
that may mess up your mind
don't ever stop from being kind.
The truth is life, a battle you win
when you fight for what you believe in.
Be honest to yourself and even your foe
then the enchantment of life will grow.
