Oh Raven!!!

We fit together perfectly, she said
Like Neapolitan and Josephine
Anthony and Cleopatra
Or Romeo and Juliet
Suddenly, his face lit up!
Now I understand, he said
As a sly smile slowly crossed his lips
We fit together perfectly
Repeating her first statement
Like, like, like Heckle and Jeckle!
Idiot, she muttered under her breath
As she turned and flew off
The sun, glistening off
Her shinny black feathers.

Ravens are quite vigorous at defending their young and are usually successful at driving off perceived threats. They attack potential predators by flying at them and lunging with their large bills. Humans are occasionally attacked if they get close to a raven nest, though serious injuries are unlikely.

When it comes to intelligence, these birds rate up there with chimpanzees and dolphins. In one logic test, the raven had to get a hanging piece of food by pulling up a bit of the string, anchoring it with its claw, and repeating until the food was in reach. Many ravens got the food on the first try, some within 30 seconds. In the wild, ravens have pushed rocks on people to keep them from climbing to their nests, stolen fish by pulling a fishermen’s line out of ice holes and played dead beside a beaver carcass to scare other ravens away from a delicious feast.

If a raven knows another raven is watching. It hides its food, it will pretend to put the food in one place while really hiding it in another. Since the other ravens are smart too, this only works sometimes.

Nerdiness

Grumberry
Grumster is kinda like a big fuzzy bear, all he needs is a little honey. (No and I do not mean that kind of honey)He actually does not like it much when I get pictures of him, so I have to be quick. Be thankful for all successes, lose your ego, take risks, fail fast, and if you don't absolutely love what you do, run!

A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world.
I am sure I hear about it and he will say, I knew you took a hundred pictures, you are addicted to this like you are addicted to gacha shopping.

Someone who I would describe as a 'geek' or 'nerd' is a person who loves something to its greatest extent and then looks for other people who love it the same way so they can celebrate loving it together.
This is just a small way of doing my part of annoying him, trust me he does many deeds of mischief. Elves are this way, I guess.

Dani Durant, eh!

Dani has been in Second Life ever since time existed I think, well close enough. She is kind-hearted, funny and loves to talk...and of course when she stops by she will talk.

"The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do."
A woman’s tongue wags like a lamb’s tail”, so an old English saying goes, and if you deign to type “why do women …” into Google’s search bar, the search engine will finish your sentence accordingly with “talk so much”. Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind," then many of us are addicted. While there are countless studies that contend that women out-talk men by more than 13,000 words a day, other studies show that men and women are equal-opportunity chatters, averaging about 16,000 words per day. And most of us, regardless of gender, do more telling, advising, convincing, explaining, directing, and divulging than we should.

Hugs to Dani, the chatty Canadian we can talk anytime you like.

Wedding Bells

You may have heard people say they hear wedding bells ringing, whether it was in reference to your any-minute-now proposal or your quickly-approaching wedding date. And yes, churches have bells that are often rung as the newlyweds make their way back up the aisle, but is that all those bells mean?

The symbolism of wedding bells is actually two separate types of bells, though both ideas come from ancient Celtic and Irish history. The first is church bells. In historic times, bells were believed to ward off evil spirits, so newlyweds would be blessed with the loud ringing of bells. Start a marriage without evil spirits? Sounds good to us!
The second type of bells are the small bells that might be passed out to guests to ring, either as the couple exits the church or during the reception as an encouragement to kiss—similar to the clinking of wine glasses. The sound of bells is also supposed to remind the couple of the vows they've made. Bells are also popular in many wedding decorations, usually as two bells tied together with a bow to represent two people joined together in marriage. No matter how you choose to incorporate them, the happy sound of ringing bells is a beautiful addition to any wedding day!

Let me grab this guy, I saw him wandering around the wedding chapel so he must be looking to do the jump.

This may be as close as I ever get....woooot!!! Wonder what his name it?

Countessa Violetta Deadmore

Countessa Violetta Deadmore

One of the distant cousins of the Deadmore family. It is said that Violetta likes to serve bats to her guests without them knowing it. Violetta's only companion is her pup Lilaack who obediently follows her around. Her father the great Count Gunther Deadmore still haunts the estate in the dark black forest where Violetta resides.  If you are lucky to be invited to one of the lavish balls do not eat anything, I would even advise against the drinks as well...her late father did and we know what happened to him. Recently the Countessa has made contact with her cousins the Deadmores at Death Row Designs just in time for the Halloween Family Reunion. Will she succeed? Will they let her enter the family? We shall see!

A blessing...

True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island... to find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing. Count your daily blessings.

The reasons why we can see so many stars when we are in the desert is to remind us that there are people out there who need a smile from a friend. A kind word or just a hello can make the isolation feels not so lonely.

There is always a way out. Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no
thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.
Can you do it?

Let the rain kiss you

The sound of the rain can be very relaxing and a toll for anxiety relief. Rather than complaining about it is raining cats and dogs remember what the rain brings. Renewed energy!

Let the rain kiss you. I think of every drop of rain as a wish that is being fulfilled by the loved ones who have passed on. That is why you have to believe in your dreams because eventually your dream is answered from one of the raindrops falling down. It is always certain that rain comes.

A dead Affair

Dearly beloved,
We meet here today to honor the life of Cassiel. We give thanks for his life and wish him well now that their time in this world has come to an end.
For Cassiel, the journey is now beginning. But for us, there is loss, grief, and pain. Every one of us here has been affected - perhaps in small ways, or perhaps in transformative ones- by Cassiel. His life mattered to us all.
It is important for us to collectively acknowledge and accept that the world has fundamentally changed with his passing. We are all grieving. Life will not be the same - nor should it be. Together, let us open our hearts and commemorate the impact Cassiel had on us.
I think they are all dead here
The dead are not dead if we have loved them truly. In our own lives, we can give them a kind of immortality. Let us arise and take up the work they have left unfinished.
When do I blow the horn?
The death of every one of us is in the natural order of things; it follows life as surely as summer follows spring. Let us think of the Tree of Life as a symbol. The trunk and branches of the tree represent the human race, and the leaves symbolize the individual men and women on earth – appearing one spring, flourishing for a season, and then dying.
The physical presence of Cassiel has gone, but the tree remains. In fact, it is now even stronger because of his life - and death. So it shall be for all of us, in time. Let us challenge ourselves to take advantage of our limited time on this earth – let us live our lives fully, endeavoring to love one another and never faltering in the pursuit of happiness.
Who is Cassiel anyway?
We have been remembering with love and gratitude a life that touched us all. I encourage you to help, support and love those who grieve most. Allow them to cry; to hurt; to smile and to remember. Grief works through our systems in its own time.

Ser du stjarnan i det bla

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind

Who you are and will become is 100% down to you. The reality is you are in full control of your life. So you are the only one who can achieve your dreams. No one else will do them for you. So believe you can achieve those dreams and you will.
Once you believe, your mindset will be set to succeed hence it will actively be focused on finding opportunities. You will see challenges as opportunities to learn, attract different ways of moving towards your dream and notice more options on what you can do to move forward.
You need to believe in yourself to get started and to keep the momentum. Use every bit of belief to fuel yourself to take action after action towards your dreams.
Your vision of yourself and your life is your greatest asset. So make it a good one and use it wisely!
Choosing to believe you can succeed will drive you and inspire you (the way an athlete trains for years because they believe they can win in the Olympics).

Tasted man and tasted flea....

I found something to cut all the weeds...woot actually get this cute flying bug from Cica Ghost

Came down on a Monday
Somewhere in the midlands
Tasted man and tasted flea
Couldn't tell the difference
Asked around on Tuesday
Got nothing from a tree
The guide had said what talks is red
That's all there is to see...

Looked around on Wednesday
Took in all the sights
The promised land they'd left to man
Been ruined overnight
Peering through the portholes
Teardrops in their eyes
The ship they took one last look
At Thursday setting sunrise

Who wants the world
Who wants the world
Who wants the world
Not me

You've colored my mind

You sort of clouded my mind and now I'm all out of time.
Empty skies say try to forget better advice is to have no regrets.

I'm only sad in a natural way and I enjoy sometimes feeling this way. The gift you gave is desire, the match that started my fire. I get so restless and bored so I go out once more; I hate to feel so confined, I feel like I'm wasting my time.

Empty hours , spent combing the street in daytime showers. They've become my beat.

In yourself and all, you've got to take this world.
And shake it up.
Let no one say they're better than you
You must believe you've got the power

You'll find it can happen
You'll find you've got the strength
You can move a mountain
You just need confidence.

All Hallows

This is a beautiful Fall sim with lots of hidden places to take some pictures. Make sure you take someone along, more fun that way.

All Hallows
All Saints’ Day is also celebrated by reciting the hymn For All the Saints by William Walsham How. Lighting candles of remembrance are also custom. In countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Spain, and Portugal offerings are made on the day. All Hallows is an old term for All Saints’ Day (Hallow, from the Old English “halig”, or holy, compared with Saint, from the Latin “sanctus”, also meaning holy, or consecrated).

Carving Pumpkins dates back to the eighteenth century and to an Irish blacksmith named Jack who colluded with the Devil and was denied entry to Heaven. He was condemned to wander the earth but asked the Devil for some light. He was given a burning coal ember which he placed inside a turnip that he had gouged out.

Thus, the tradition of Jack O'Lanterns was born - the bearer being the wandering blacksmith - a damned soul. Villagers in Ireland hoped that the lantern in their window would keep the wanderer away. When the Irish emigrated in their millions to America there was not a great supply of turnips so pumpkins were used instead.

"yourself"

There's a wild wide world
Made of people like me
And they can't wait to be
With people like me
But what do I do?
I sit here stuck
With you know who

@ the Retreat

Oh, brow of my beloved
Oh, you're always
You're always the same
Oh, you're always so furrowed
Yes, you're always exactly the same
There's a wild wide world
I was hoping that you could
Stick both of your lips
To my lips for good
But what do I do?
I sit here stuck
With you know who
Oh, brow of my beloved
Oh, you're always
You're always the same
Oh, you're always so furrowed
You're always exactly the same
