Dia de los Muertos

Día de los Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead, is a holiday when people remember those who have died. Largely celebrated in Mexico, it dates back to pre-Hispanic civilizations from 2,500 to 3,000 years ago.
We are just her resting our bones.

I think what frightened Greg more than anything was that my dress looked like the same pattern from the shower curtain.

Just a thin veil, between this world
And that world of beauty and love,
Just a thin veil that hides the view
Of our Spirit loved ones above!

We wish you a very joyful Day of the Dead and may you always remember those who have passed.

To live in hearts we leave behind
Is not to die.

Pumpkin Pumpkin...who was this guy?

One day I found two pumpkin seeds.

I planted one and pulled the weeds.
It sprouted roots and a big, long vine.
A pumpkin grew; I called it mine.
The pumpkin was quite round and fat.
(I really am quite proud of that.)
But there is something I'll admit
That has me worried just a bit.
I ate the other seed, you see.
Now, will it grow inside of me?

(I'm so relieved since I have found
That pumpkins only grow in the ground!)

I danced with the pumpkin King all night. He is a good dancer actually and his light inside never went out.
He serenaded me with some music from the "Ballad of the pumpkin seed". Did he just wink at me? Or was that a flicker of the candle-light?
And then all of a sudden, he tried to steal a kiss from me. His bony fingers on my back. Oh wait can you scratch me back there? Yes, that feels good.
Inside his head, I like to see...oh, nothing...figures.
But I do am very fond of him and I will keep him around for another year :)

“Lil’ Red Riding Hood”

Most of know the story of little red riding hood and how she went to her granny's house through the woods and a encountered the big bad wolf.
Well, there are many versions of this story and the most famous is most likely the one told by the brothers Grimm.

The tale can be told in terms of Little Red Riding Hood’s sexual attractiveness. The song “How Could Red Riding Hood (Have Been So Very Good)?” by A.P. Randolph in 1925 was the first song known to be banned from radio because of its sexual suggestiveness.
The 1966 hit song “Lil’ Red Riding Hood” by Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs takes Wolf’s point of view, implying that he wants love rather than blood.
I do like the part in the song that the wolf promises to be good. So, it reminds me of the big bad wolf following me around throughout second life. Well, he never was bad actually.
The wolf of course never gives up to chase little red riding hood. In this case, it may be a good thing, because if he didn't well she would be all alone.

I guess I am gonna keep this wolf around, he is pretty harmless under all this fur. I mean just look at those big blue eyes so he can see me better. Look at those big hands so he can hold me extra tight. Look at that big mouth so he can scare all the other bad wolves away. You just gotta love him as he sings:
"What a big heart I have-the better to love you with.

Little Red Riding Hood

Even bad wolves can be good.

I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.

Maybe you'll see things my way before we get to grandma's place."

I am gonna make sure I take the loooong way to granny's house...wink!!!
Come and visit the Retreat and take your pictures of a story :)

The "new" Basement Club!!!

It was long due to change the Basement Club. I originally build the Basement after the "Full Monty" left here. I decided to make the Basement Club right under the same property.

We now entered a new sophisticated era of the Basement Club. The look is elegant, yet still casual. There is seating for those who do not want to dance and just hang out.

Places to go and P a r t y!!!

If you are looking for some places to go and want something different??? Yes??? Here are a few recommendations for you.
1.The first one has just reopened at its new location:
Want to support the Veterans? The come Friday Nights to the Tailhook Club.
DJ Likka every Friday 6-8 PM SLT
2.  The Club on Monday Nights 8-10 with DJ Dandy and also Thursday Nights with DJ Likka 8-10 PM. The reason why they are different is that you will find friendly people and the music you do not hear everywhere. It is music, not just tunes.

DJ Dandy 8-10 PM every Monday and DJ Likka 8-10 every Thursday

3. Totally 80s is just that, it focuses on the 80s music. Stop by on a Saturday night 8-10 PM SLT and listen in. Make some new friends. This place is always packed no matter what day or time you stop by, but if you love the 80s it is all worth it.

Bewitched

Where did the term "witch" even come from? In looking at the etymology, or the word's history, there is the Old English "wicce" (sorcerer). Looking beyond that into the Indo European and Germanic origins, there are many theories. There are words such as "weik"(to bend or fold) and "weid"(to see or to know) that have supernatural connotations believed to have been translated into the Old English... and then to the Modern English with the word "witch". What it boils down to is the word itself has been taken from several words and meanings to label those who had abilities that were beyond what was considered the norm.

No need to be afraid, this witch will not cast any spells on you, or will she?
Stop by the Retreat and take some pictures in your scary outfits and then go post them at the Retreat Flickr Group.

Kowloon Walled City

Kowloon encompasses the northern part of Hong Kong, on the mainland across Victoria Harbour. Once a separate city, it was acquired by Britain in 1860 and returned to China with the rest of the colony in 1997. It’s now a shopping, arts and entertainment district. Stores line Nathan Road, while traditional markets offer goods from flowers and goldfish to clothes and jade.

"Bathe in the neon glow of this sim based in Hong Kong's infamous Kowloon Walled City, a place with a sordid past and where sunlight rarely reaches the ground below. Shops line the narrow city streets and darkened alleys, while Panda Park offers the lone space to stare up at the stars."

So instead of helping me get out of this, Greg is just watching me. This sim is full of shops and things everywhere. We came here to be part of a video shoot and then explored it. There is plenty to see all over and there are many corners with surprises. It is a fascinating place especially when you think about it that it used to be a real place.

Sitting on the set of the video making...see Greg in the background? He was the bouncer.
Thank you, Brant, for letting us be part of this. It was fun and we loved exploring the sim and learning more about Kowloon.

Male Dancers @ the Basement Club!!!

Alright, ladies, you want to see some male dancers? Go no further than the Basement Club, because we have them. Yeah!!!

No worries, this is an "M" rated Club so you will see no nudity, BUT some sexy dancers and some great music will satisfy your Sunday. Just in time for the week to begin.

Play the Travis Train Game for some Linden Cash.
See you there...every Sunday!!!

Wild Thing!!!

"Besides love and sympathy, animals exhibit other qualities connected with the social instincts which in us would be called moral." ― Charles Darwin

Yes, Greg, I found this little crow outside. It must have fallen out of a nest somewhere. Can I keep it?

I know Greg hears this so many times from me when I come home with another creature, but I can't help it. This little thing is sooo cute. I named him Carl.

I know, I know, but still, I cannot help it. these animals are all so cute. I also adopted furries along the way and other fine creatures.

Shhhh, if you are really quiet, I can sneak you in the house and put you in that Alabama room. Shhhh!!!

Animals are like little angels sent to earth to teach us how to love. They don't get angry or play silly games. They are always there for us.

...once upon a time

...the fairytale begins in the world of prims and mesh-fitted hearts.

Hey, wait a minute, you are not running from this....
Men can be so terrified when you even mention anything about a term that is longer than a football game. My advice is to play it in quarters. One quarter at a time until you have the touchdown.

Greg looks as if his beloved team has lost the game. Smile! It is not that bad baby. You show up, say yes and relax.

Close your eyes and I will make your dreams come true.

Ok, ready? Let us go and do this :)

You are my dream come true, you are my world, you are the joy in my heart, the laughter in my voice, and the smile on my face. We compliment each other so beautifully and together we can face anything, we can be comforted in knowing that we will never have to face it alone.

Not just for this moment, not for an hour, or day, or year - I will always love you.

I promise to hold our love as a love everlasting.
