...and the winner is

Who says you need a special invitation to attend the Oscar Night?

Not if you can go to Rock Candi, where every Tuesday the scene changes to something fun.

Tonight was Oscar Night and everybody wore their best.

The music was fabulous played by DJ Candi herself. It is always fun because the people are friendly and make you laugh.

Hope you get to stop by one night, every Tuesday from 6-8PM SLT for the theme night, but the club is open on other nights too.

Be prepared the place is small and gets very crowded, but it does give you that feel of being in a nightclub lounge.

We had fun listening to the great music, the people also seemed very friendly.

Voracious Greedy !

Well not really, but we were hungry for a win at Greedy with friends.

The winning is probably not that important, although I must admit winning once makes you voracious for Greedy.

If you are looking for a cool place to play Greedy that is a little different, because you know you cannot always eat the same stuff, then stop by at the Retreat and play here. Just walk through the gates past the pink car and you will see the tables. Enjoy!!!
You can also join us and play with us. Just IM me Anjelikka)

After the game, we relax :)

P.S. You can also play Greedy on the water at the Lakehouse.

Imagine the possibilites

I often ask myself what if we imagine the possibilities if we start of Mondays with dancing. Rather than getting ready for work, let us just dance. (At least for a little bit)

Imagination is real :)

What is great about Second Life is that you can actually do this, but hey why wait for Second Life when Real Life is not an imagination of your mind, but something that is real.

I think I would like that very much and no it does not involve the acrobatic type of movements (lol, not at my age) but just some swaying to the music. I am doing this right now. Well, somewhat but with my cat.

Then there is the saying: Everything you imagine is real by Picasso. So, in other words, that would make Second Life real and when we dance we are really dancing.

That also means we are real. I think people who are in Second Life sometimes forget that they are real but represented in their avatar. Of course, we used our imagination to create that avatar, but don't we do this already in real life too. We get dressed in the clothes we bought and have the hairstyle we want because we imagined it and it became real or we made it a reality.

So here it goes...dance on Mondays because imagine the possibilities.

Happy Easter!!!

There is a lot of confusion regarding what Easter Sunday is all about. For some, Easter Sunday is about the Easter Bunny, colorfully decorated Easter eggs, and Easter egg hunts.

It is commonly thought that the word Easter comes from a pagan figure called Eastre (or Eostre) who was celebrated as the goddess of spring by the Saxons of Northern Europe. The only problem with this theory is that it has no basis in history. The existence of a goddess named Eastre or a spring festival in her honor is based on pure conjecture. The same is true of the origin of the Easter bunny and Easter eggs—no one knows for sure how these things became a part of Easter observances. The most we can say is that the word Easter is probably related to the word east (ost in German) and that the Saxons had a month they called Eosturmononath.

at The Willows :)

The legend of the Easter bunny bringing eggs appears to have been brought to the United States by settlers from Germany. The German tradition of the Easter bunny (or Oschter Haws) migrated to America in the 1700s, accompanying German immigrants, many of whom settled in Pennsylvania. Over the past 200 years, the Easter bunny has become the most commercially recognized symbol of Easter in the United States. Other countries use other animals as the symbol of Easter, such as the cuckoo (in Switzerland).

In legend, the Easter bunny also called the Easter hare and the spring bunny, brings baskets filled with colored eggs, candy, and sometimes toys to the homes of children on the night before Easter, in much the same way as Santa Claus is said to deliver presents on Christmas Eve. The Easter Bunny will either put the baskets in a designated place or hide them somewhere in the house or garden for the children to find when they wake up in the morning, giving rise to the tradition of the Easter egg hunt. Obviously, none of this comes from the Bible.

Easter Sunday at the Basement Club!!!

We wish you a very HAPPY EASTER, no matter how you celebrate it :)

Once again, congratulations to Ledd & Lexa for picking the Chapel at the Retreat and the Basement for your wedding. We wish you lots of love and happiness.

Who needs a bad DJ? You are fired!!!

There are so many DJs in Second Life, yet not all are good. Of course, they all play music and some of that is great. I am talking about those who are using their DJ status to deceive others so they tip them.

I got this straight from a DJ's mouth: Oh, I work my ass off to get people to this Club, even if I have to flirt with them to get them here. (that is sick in so many ways)

He deceives all the women by telling them he wants to remain single and he is only here to play the music. He complains if you do not tip him. It makes sense now why he wants those tips. There is a girlfriend and she needs the lindens to buy buy buy.

I feel sorry for the many victims still under his spell. They tip him, while he flirts with them and they believe they may have a chance with him. They won't, he is committed to someone else. Or is he really?
...and he prays:

That didn’t happen.
And if it did happen, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was that bad, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is a big deal, that’s not my fault.
And if it was my fault, I didn’t mean it.
And if I did mean it…
You deserved it.
Amen.

Once this same DJ got irate with me because I blocked someone from my land. He forgot that I am the owner of that land and I get to decide who comes. Nobody really cares if he has a girlfriend...but what I do NOT tolerate is that he was deceiving the women on my land and yes he still is doing the same crap. Just not on my land.

You are fired!!!

And the winner is.... me! Really?

People who know me in real life know that I love photography. I quickly learned about photography in Second Life and fell in love with it. Like the real life adventures I take to find the perfect picture, I do this in Second Life as well. I am not that fond of too much photoshopping because it takes away from the real beauty of what you saw. I usually just use filter and crop.

I never really entered a Photo Contest before, but this time I thought why not try it. Besides, it gave me the opportunity to take some really nice pictures.

So, one night in the wee hours before I went to bed I went to Epiphainein's sim and did it. I took pictures as I explored.

The sim is really beautiful and as you land, there are many props and poses, but my advice is to go to the outside and explore and see the nature all around. (right after this coffee)

And here it is my entry:
I won first place...yeah. Please do go and see all the other winners, there is so much talent here, it is amazing.

Thank you so much for the honor of First Place in this contest. I am thrilled and honored :)

Rezz me into your dreams!!!

"I hope he does"
Of course, that is possible. There is some work you have to do so it can happen. It is not that hard really. Start with a daydream of the memories you already have. Suggest with a few hints and then talk about some of these ideas. For example, the castle and maybe it rained. You have seen a castle, you have been to a castle, go back and pick from your memory.

Discuss your future plans of meeting at a castle. Talk about it in detail and then before you go to bed tell the person..." hey, don't dream of all that rain," this is an indirect command of dreaming and suggesting to not dream of the negative, like in this case the rain but instead to dream about the beautiful castle.
...and poof you are right into their dream. Yes, at the castle.
"Dream my love!"
And here I am rezzed into your dream. If you want to go to this beautiful castle just stop by at Sanssouci Park. Create the memory of being here together and then try dreaming together. This is a really relaxing park, so make sure you look around and see the gallery and the garden.

Checkpoint Charlie!!! New BerlinII

In front of remains of the "Wall" in Berlin

Checkpoint Charlie is something I am sure you have heard about at one point or another during your history lessons in school.

"Checkpoint Charlie was first set up in August 1961, when communist East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to prevent its citizens from fleeing to the democratic West. While it was only one of several crossings in and around Berlin—there was also a Checkpoint Alpha and Bravo—Charlie was notable for its location on Friedrichstrasse, a historic street in the American-occupied city center. Even more important was that it was the only gateway where East Germany allowed Allied diplomats, military personnel, and foreign tourists to pass into Berlin’s Soviet sector. In response, the United States, France and Britain stationed military police at Checkpoint Charlie to ensure their officials had ready access to the border. The Allied guards spent most of their time monitoring diplomatic and military traffic, but they were also on hand to register and provide information to travelers before they ventured beyond the Wall."

Checkpoint Charlie

I hope you go and look around at this place. There are shops here as well as events that happen. The location is right next to the GNC German Newbie Center (GNC)

At the Alexanderplatz Plaza

Watch the video to get some more information about the Real Life Checkpoint Charlie, which is now a tourist attraction for anybody who comes and visits the beautiful city of Berlin.

The Sock Hop!!!

I must say the sock hop was an amazing success. It is all because of the incredible friends we have made throughout the years. The music was perfect and the diner looked fabulous.
Thank you to the following people and their support, without you, we could never do this.
Annie, the lovely hostess who takes it all quietly and smiles :)
Candi, always sexy and charming.
Tom, you looked great in the pink jacket...we love you :)
Dandy, always good to have an extra DJ in the house.
Deb, what would a party be without you?
Suzi, always good to see you...cute outfit.
Jack and Corina, the only couple I know that got married in SL over and over and over again, and that to each other.
Micheal and Charming, always fun to have you two with us, you are funny, witty and we enjoy you.
And of course "Greg", you are part of the we, you know what I mean.

Our lovely pig "Babe" helped us laugh and play the new game "What did Babe eat?" and we found out he ate some strange things. We had winners who guessed both games and congratulations on your cash prizes.

Thank you all for making this a success and yes we are one year's old now.
