Rewards of effort

I think it is so true, being a teacher in real life you look for rewards, so today I decided to give me this Best Blogger award. There is nothing extraordinary about my blog. I do not blog about fashions and get free items to describe them to you and tell you where to get them and just find out that they are too costly or do not even exist anymore.  What I do blog about is what I see and experience in second life which is a little connected to real life. 

Seriously you have to give yourself credit at times. Know and feel that you have done good. It is not about how many people follow you, but it is about that one person who you made smile. Even a small moment of happiness will relief stress. And you know what stress does to your body. 

I enjoy creating art here and in real life and that was the reason I came here in the first place. Whatever you do, do it the best you can and keep learning about it, but the most important part of it is to enjoy it and feel proud of what you created. Reward the efforts :)

Look before you leap

Logging Back on....

Sometimes real life prevents you from what you really want to do and that is a bummer. I realized very quick there is no second life in the hospital...the cellphones die much faster and they do not revive them at all. 

The wait for any services there were much worse than the lag you would get on a avi-filled sim. I wanted to teleport out of there as fast as I could. I found the CT Scan machine interesting and thought to myself, finally a device that will take me out of here. They looked at my head very closely and discovered it was not a Catwa head but standard. Yes, I admit, I have not upgraded yet.

Getting out of the hospital is a lot like resigning from a book club. You're not out of it until the computer says you're out of it.

It takes how long to log me off? This felt like when you are stuck in between teleports and you are going nowhere.

I went to the aftercare the next day to my personal doctor and while I was waiting there among all the old folks, a weakly old man stood up to walk into the room and farted three times. I guess those sounds were not detected by anyone but me. Maybe it is a frequency that hearing aids have blocked out. I didn't say anything, but all I wanted was to get out of there as fast as I could. Who would have known that you can be gassed in the waiting room.?
Anyway, logging back on now

Hollywood Tunes with DJ Dandy and Likka!!!

There was lots to laugh about and lots to guess about at Movie Tunes night with DJ Dandy and Likka on Monday Night at the Club.

There were some free gifts and Dude Points and we even had a winner with a total of 387 points which went to Deb. Congratulations!
Her prize will be in the men's bathroom. Landmark  will be sent and Greg is gonna clean out that bathroom first.

I was gonna throw some Lindens around, but it was more fun having it fall like snowflakes over me.

Singing and Dancing in the Rain....

There is nothing more fun than singing and dancing in the rain, right? That is what we thought when we decided to have our Sunday set at the Basement Club outdoors and in the rain. The idea came to me while I was in the pool getting a few strokes.

I kept on thinking about how we can add maybe a beach and such flamingos which I still have plenty left over from the time we got flocked.

But before you knew it, the time was here and the rain was falling.

Looks like Greg had a great time getting his free shower, lol.

80s Pajama Party @ the CLUB

We really had so much fun wearing our pajamas and the music was great. Everybody loves the 80s, so you can't go wrong with that.

Jumping on the bed, we could not resist that.

It was a blast from the past for sure and remember every time you come to one of DJ Dandy's sets either here at the Club or the Basement Club you can earn DUDE points. The Dude points can be exchanged for some gifts. Details on that coming soon.

Sweetheart Dance @ the Basement Club!!!

Dressed in Red they came and danced at the Sweetheart Dance at the Basement Club! There was plenty to smile about with free balloons, a best in red contest that was 600L an d also the famous "Travis Train" game.

Day of Love expectations

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and you are wondering if you gonna get that cute little box containing the ring.If he didn’t pop the question, the “Day of Love” may have turned into a bit of a reality check. It most likely will not happen.

A ring does not automatically mean marriage, it can be just a symbol of love and a promise. 

Today, there are a few ways to describe the meaning of promise rings. Each promise ring is given as an expression of a certain promise two people have made with one another. Some of the most common promise ring meanings include:

• Friendship: Good friends sometimes exchange promise rings that symbolize the commitment to always be there for one another.
• Monogamy:Promise rings are often exchanged as symbols of a mutual commitment to remain monogamous while in a romantic relationship.
• Pre-engagement: Perhaps the most common meaning of a promise ring for couples is the commitment to a relationship that is headed toward engagement. When you feel that your partner is the right one for you but you aren’t quite ready for marriage, a promise ring is also known as a pre-engagement ring.
• Promises to Yourself: In some cases, a person may buy a promise ring for herself to serve as a reminder to stay strong and committed to a certain cause. These rings may remind the wearer to be true to herself, to stay away from negative influences, or to maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity.

So I did, I bought some rings for myself to remind me that I am awesome and strong in many ways. 

My door is always open

The door is open for now but one day I do want to do things behind closed doors and that may require a stronger commitment.

You know that almost every song is about LOVE in one way or another. It is love that makes the world go 'round. It is love that makes you blind and love is all you need.

Love is not a fairy tale, there are ups and downs and without that it would be just boring.  

To find real love, you must first emphasize your true self. If you want someone to love you through your moments of imperfection, you must first be willing to do that for someone else. Be real with yourself, so you are ready for someone else's authenticity.

Give love a chance and just let it flow and enjoy the moment.

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.

Fastnacht

Time to start the celebrations of Fastnacht (Mardi Gras) There is a fun tradition in Germany on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. The day is called " Weiberfastnacht", which means Karnival for women and on this day men are warned not to wear their very best ties to work. On that day women take over power and cut a man's tie off, he in exchange gets a gets a Bützchen, a little kiss. 

I am sure Greg would not mind if I cut his tie for a little kiss...

In the Middle Ages, upper-class woman were allowed to throw their manners out the window on this day, which was dubbed "the drinking day for dear women."

In the 18th century, some convents even recognized the anything-goes tradition and the nuns were permitted to feast, gamble and dance until the wee hours of the morning.

In the 19th century, a group of washerwoman in Beuel near Bonn, around 30 kilometers (about 19 miles) south of Cologne, laid the foundation for the present-day Weiberfastnacht celebrations.

Back then, the washerwomen had to work 16 hours a day — and not only for the high-society men who could afford it; they also had to scrub their own husbands' dirty laundry so that the men could go to Carnival parties in nearby Cologne in clean shirts. The wives had to stay at home to work and tend to the children.

The process of five negative emotions!

Sometimes I really have to read these over and over again until they get stuck in my mind and I can turn them into a positive.

Anger - who have you not listened to or who were you not patient with because they did not understand your communication? What will you change next time in order to learn from this?

Sadness - it is OK to feel sorry for yourself but what does it bring you - more sadness. Ask yourself what you can learn from it in order that you grow and move onward.

Fear - for what, protection? Fear does not protect you, your fight-or-flight response does. What can you learn from the fear in order that you can proceed? What is the worst that could happen?

Hurt - what for - to prevent future hurt? What can you learn from this in order to let it go once and for all?

Guilt - mistakes are the most important thing we can do as long as we learn from them.  What can you learn and what actions can you take in order that guilt releases and you make amends with yourself.

The best way to live life is to be like a little child, having no cares and expectations. You are just doing what brings you joy and expressing yourself fearlessly in every moment. You completely accept yourself and whatever is happening without judgment. You are trusting that you are always provided for and there is nothing that is stopping you from attaining all that you truly desire. You are free to live fully in the moment without worrying about the future.
