Funk Music at the Basement Club

Sometimes we have themes at the Basement Club, just for the fun of it. Funk music is a dance music genre that incorporates elements from soul, blues, and jazz. Funk originated in African American communities in New Orleans and led to the birth of an aggressive dance style. Funk is still a popular dance music genre. It’s different in the sense of adding emphasis on the first beat of each measure compared to the second and fourth beats that characterize other dance genres.

The Basement Club is more known for Indie, Alternative, and 80s Underground music with DJs M-F starting at 6PM SLT. We of course enjoy all sorts of music and the DJ decides what they want to play. Music keeps the soul happy and we all need happiness these days.  Benefits include stress relief, reduced depression and anxiety, and reduced agitation. So come on down to the Basement Club and let some of that stress go. Yes, there are many many clubs in Second Life and we love it when you come to ours. 

DJ Gerikk is our newest DJ. He may be small but he plays some giant music. All music is capable of forging bonds. The brain releases endorphins, making the shared experience pleasurable. The Basement Club welcomes all avatars. We feel it is your right to express yourself, and so be you. We only ask to be respectful.
