Happy 14th Birthday Second Life! Let us PARTY together :)

Amazing when you think that Second Life has been around for 14 years. So when people tell you it is just a game, well not. There are studies out there that a game lasts only for a little while and eventually fade away.

I look forward every year to the big celebration for the birthday in Second Life. It gets better all the time. So many great artists here and too little time to see it all. 

In honor of second life's birthday bash called Carnivalesque, we will have our very own SL party here at the Basement Club.
Wear a costume or mask and be part of the celebration.

A little piece of Happiness....

Happiness is something everyone wants to have. You may be successful and have a lot of money, but without happiness, it will be meaningless.

Happiness is a decision you make. It is absolutely free and available to everybody.

All this month of June we basically celebrate our 1 year anniversary being together. We have known each other more than that. We have been to each other's weddings and were happy for each other. We have been there when the heart ached of disappointment. We have been friends and explored places all over Second Life. We have grown to be more in many ways.

Of course, I give him a hard time every day and what is amazing about him is that he is always calm. He can be silly, very funny and oh yes talk talk talk but when it is serious he is there to listen and comfort me.

A little piece of Happiness is being with you...it is. Happy Anniversary Month...may we have much more together.

My advice as it is in real life, treasure those few true friends...

Writer's Block?

So, sometimes I get just stuck when it comes to writing or creating. I looked that up and somehow came upon "writer's block" You have to understand for me to comprehend this in English I always have to visualize the word. Well thinking of a big block I am sitting on did not explain nor help me.

Some kind of intervention cannot hurt I suppose, but I may have to look for more answers. 

Okay. Okay. I know caffeine isn’t good for you. But sometimes you need something to keep going. Don’t waste your fantastic ideas just because you can’t keep awake.

Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Green tea sounds great about now.

Being around my cat always helps me relax and think of new ideas. Maybe my blog should be about cats? What do you think? Okay, maybe not then.

There are many ideas you can find online if you ever get stuck writing or being creative, but do allow yourself to be still for a moment as well.

Happy Flag Day!!!

You should never be afraid to raise your flag and be proud of it. So stand tall and repeat after me:

"I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL."

I don't know of any country that does not honor their flag, so before I get too political I support this flag and this country.

Now going back to the regular program...oh yes I had the honor today to be part of the USO show held at Sacred Ground. Thank you 

US Navy Vet for creating that sim.

I must say the show by "THE OUTSIDERS" was amazing. If you missed it you need to check their dance group out.

I also have the honor to create a website for Sacred Ground and as I get more information, I will update that as well. At the moment the grounds on that sim are being worked on and I have been promised to get a view of it fairly soon.

What is Peace?

Everything must be understood at first before you can get the results you want. I truly believe this peace comes from within first. If all people would look for that peace inside of themselves, they would be so much more ready to enforce it in the world around them.

Life is truly an opportunity you get just once. You make the best out of every situation. If there are challenges, then go deal with them. Overcome the sorrows and play the life role you always wanted to play. Life is you. Life is the adventure you dare to live. So do it. Make some peace :)

Sacred Ground

I stumbled upon Sacred Ground, one of the biggest Soldier Memorials in SL, on Memorial Day and was quickly impressed with it. I knew there was something I could do. 

I am a long time supporter of the troops and all veterans in RL. As a former spouse and military liaison for the Family Readiness program, I feel proud to be able to do something in SL to support the veterans.

I will be doing some videos and a website for them, so I am very excited to be helping this way.

It was out of this world because only 2 humans showed up and the rest were from other planets around the grid.

Thank you to all who joined us in this great party. We also had winners for the best costume, which went to Candi, Charming and Anjelikka, but everybody looked great :)
