Once upon a time....

Not every fairy tale has fairies or mystical creatures of fantasy, some have people. That is why sometimes you just have to look around you and see the colors of the flowers and hear the sounds of the singing birds, feel the wind on your skin. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine yourself there.

Every time I log into Second Life I am there at that place. It is a magical place for people and their creative minds to meet and dance to their desires. I love being here and dream of you. Yes! You :)

In that book which is
My memory . . .
On the first page
That is the chapter when
I first met you
Appear the words . . .
Here begins a new life

– Dante Alighieri

And for a moment, time is still and we forget the sorrows of life as we know.

There are days we live
as if death were nowhere
in the background; from joy
to joy to joy, from wing to wing,
from blossom to blossom to
impossible blossom, to sweet impossible blossom.

Li-Young Lee

...and so it goes on. Smile always when you think of me and before you do go to sleep and smile again when you wake. I am here.

Why some men don't dance?

Sometimes no matter what you try, there are those men who just don't dance. I suppose there are many reasons why men don 't dance.
For example, we have "Grum" who only on rare occasions dances. It is kind of like the small percentage you get from a gacha machine. You will keep adding and you will get the common prize.

I don't think dancing is a man's thing to do. Let's face it those men on Dancing with the Stars are celebrities and it is television.Of course, they dance for a big sum of money.

Men are ever so conscious of who is watching if they are going to do the juicy wiggle around others, especially if men are looking. Ha, you thought us women do that? Nope men are guilty of that, they look and compare and if they look anything silly or not manly, they will not do it. I think they have a point here.

But then again, men look very silly and strange when they yell at the television just because the other team scored. I know they, the men, will argue over this and say that football or any sports interactions are a normal motion for a guy and dancing is not. Think back when men dancing were in style. That was way back, right? Yes, that was when they wore a suit and danced that swing with real ladies (they were dressed and not half naked). I kinda like those days and wished I would have been from that era, but then again that would make me extremely old right now.

Well, either way, stop by on a Thursday Night at the CLUB between 8-10 PM SLT and I will dance with you. Now you know you will dance :)

SECOND LIFE - " THE STORY " - LEA25

For all of you who have spent numerous hours and days that turned into years in Second Life (SL) the installation of "The Story" by Sniper Siemens is a must see. Even if you are new to Second Life you will appreciate this.

SL has come a very long way from the early primitive times that started in 1999 with Philip Rosedale creating the company Linden Lab.

Map of Second Life in 2002
Sniper has done a marvelous job with this installation that runs until June 2017.
Sniper Simon
I enjoyed the little train ride that begins in 1999 and takes you through the years of the evolution of Second Life. You can also walk the path and take your time looking at everything. It is worth it for sure. Let's face it SL was nothing way back in time as we know it now.

Avatars were primitars in those days and they could not do much other than fly and shoot things. I believe in the young days of SL people operating the primitars loved the shooting of things.

(I am glad we don't need to do this now anymore, although for those who love shooting there are many role playing groups in SL for that).

I am still smiling over the cute little train, thank you, Sniper :)

My first journey into Second Life started in 2011 although I had heard about it and looked at it at one point some years prior, but I never logged on until that September of 2011.

The history of " The Story" is an important one to tell. So many hours and money that has been invested into this virtual world is an amazing thing. It is always changing and yet some things remain. Looking back to where it all started makes you absolutely appreciate where you are now. "The Story" is your story as well. It has something we all can relate with. We changed with it along the way.

Some of us are afraid of change, but some change is good and necessary for growth.

Some may be afraid of the new platform called Sansar. Don't be afraid. It will be just another virtual world to explore. I doubt that Second Life is going away, but I know it will change for us, with us. Because we are Second Life.

Be sure to watch Sniper's Video about " The Story", it is a great piece of art as is his installation of the history of Second Life.
I do hope the installation will not end and go on and on as things change. It really should.

The Retreat Greedy Fun

We hope you can come. This will be held in the courtyard at the Retreat. At the landing point, walk through the gate and follow the road...past the pink car and enter the courtyard. There you will see the Greedy Table. Feel free to play there anytime you like. Do not feed the chickens or the cat. I know they will beg for food. They are "greedy" in a way.

Every Tuesday...7:30 PM SLT

What is Greedy?
Greedy is a simple, but highly addictive fast-paced dice game for 2 to 8 players. The objective of the game is to get as many points as you can without getting too "greedy". There is no limit to the number of rolls you can make in a turn, but if you fail to roll something of point value on each roll, then you lose everything you have accumulated for that turn.

Greedy goes by other names depending on where you learned it. You may know it as 10,000 (Ten-Thousand), Farkle, Stugots, or Zilch.

Poetic Dancing

We always take the opportunity to dance, because dancing is poetry on foot. When you think of poetry you think of romance and when you think of romance you think of Valentine's Day and so on and on. Well, for me it is simple: I think of Greg because every day is like Valentine's Day not because of flowers or candy, but because the sweet love and friendship you do offer makes it like that.

I often forget to thank you for that.

Thank you for always being there for me and making me smile and laugh. I hope I do the same for you :)And I love how we always have the same answers at the same time, that must mean something...I gotta research that.

Oh, can you rescue me? LOL

Gacha here, gacha there, gacha everywhere!!!

You may have heard of the term "gacha" but really don't know what it is? Or maybe you are afraid to click on one of the gacha machines because it is kind of a gamble to get an item you don't want?

I was there at one point and had no idea what all of this stuff meant. One time by accident I landed at the Arcade and had no clue what this was. The Arcade is a place where many vendors display their new gacha items in machines. It is not always open, so you have to check the event calendar on their website.

What is a gacha?
A gacha can be really anything like clothes, decor or who knows what, but the best to explain this is do you remember those machines in the stores with the balls inside? You put in a quarter and you get a ball that has a little something? Yes? That is a gacha. You did not know which one you were gonna get, but you tried with one quarter.

Now there is an easier way to get the exact item you want. Here is how:
1. look for the name of the gacha, the creator
2. look on marketplace for the item
3. compare the prices
4. get it

The great thing about gachas is that you can resell them. There are tons of places where you can buy them and resell them including the marketplace. The rare items and collector items are big money makers.

I buy clothes in gacha machines. Like the outfit above. The shoes I got for 45L, can you believe this. I look for the color and prices after I seen the item at an event...and about 95% I get the items for a more cheaper price than the original gacha price. I do this more often with an item that I really really want. It is kinda like shopping around from place to place until you find it.

Some items I resell in my Gacha Store at the Retreat. ( Just walk through the gate past the pink car and you will see the store)

My favorite gacha items are the decor and furniture, it is like going to Home Goods and picking stuff out. So, go out there and search for gachas at one of the events or at gacha sales.

I do have to warn you, once you go gacha shopping you may get addicted to this. But remember just sell the items and get your money back.
Enjoy!!!
