Today I went sailing once more and decided yo head North starting at the Crows Nest and I eventually ended up in the Dire Strait. Europa Point has some interesting and haunting features. It is very quiet here.
A lonely fisherman doing some night fishing here. Not sure if he caught anything. I was only watching him from a distance, because I did not want to disturb his fishing.
Something must have been up, because I saw two police officers with a canine watching carefully over the sea.
In fact two UFOs appeared on the sky and I believe they were checking on me.
Second Life can be very therapeutic for many of us or of course it becomes an addiction, not necessarily bad. When Real Life is too troublesome I come here and see the beauty in the Art on my screen. Sometimes it helps me create my own pixels as in photographs or written form, like this poem below inspired by Sirens Isle: The truth is what I said, for some reason you misread. As fast as the wind twirls around my black colored curls, you wrote your own version, and made the rug Persian. No sorrow is greater than being misunderstood again. Ahoy! I sail the pixelated sea, where the air is not salty but free. A seagull over the island circles the life under water gurgles. Oh Siren, nymph of the sea, sailors admire your sweet beauty, but now the plane lies in the water; and the truth has become your slaughter. Yet I stay here without regret for the truth is what I said.
The fun thing in SL Sailing is that you can go pretty far. Today I tried to sail from the Hollywood Airport
(Hollywood Airport (SLHA) is a popular public airport in Second Life. Located strategically on the edge of the Blake Sea, the airport buzzes with activity. It is a wonderful place to just hang out and watch the planes come and go. More than ten commercial airlines operate flights out of SLHA. Scores of flights (sometimes more than 100) using all manner of aircraft take place to and from SLHA on a daily basis. Come fly to the airport and walk next door or take the monorail to enjoy the excitement of Hollywood sim) to the super large Ship called SS Galaxy (This enormous, full-featured cruise ship spans three sims and offers an array of activities, including shopping, dancing, and music. Just like a real life cruise, you can also rent the staterooms and suites.)
About two nautical miles under the blue ocean floor I came across him once again. This time it looked like he needed help. I always wondered about what was up with him standing on an island for hours day and night. Maybe he thought he was a Lighthouse to warn the so many ships who come and take a break here.
But this time he was in deep water surrounded by fish. He did tell me once that he lived in a pineapple like "Sponge-bob", however I do believe when you are that far down you may lose some of your mind for a short period of time. Do they have pineapples under the sea?
I need to remember when I go sailing to pack up diving gear. All I had was an air tank and a mask and lucky for Mr. Sponge Bob, a snorkel. So, of course I jumped in, took his hand and pulled him up to the surface. You won't believe how heavy a man is, even under water. I think his combat boots are ruined, so hopefully he has enough Lindens to get some new ones. I suggest stay out of the water with leather boots.
Happy Sailing !!! I am sure I will see him on the same spot, same time again. I will be better prepared this time.
As a new day breaks I am faced with another new beginning. Although I try not to let real life interfere with second life, sometimes you have no choice when tragedies happen.
I wish you well in everything you do and thank you for all the laughter you did bring. Short lived for sure. “There are as many worlds as there are kinds of days, and as an opal changes its colors and its fire to match the nature of a day, so do I.” ― John Steinbeck
