When does Winter begin?
The meteorological calendar classifies winter as beginning in December and ending in February. In the astronomical calendar, winter starts on the winter solstice, which is around 22 December in the Northern Hemisphere.
The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year and occurs when the sun is furthest south from Earth's equator and the Earth's Northern Hemisphere is tilted away resulting in less solar heating. After the winter solstice, days start to get longer with more hours of daylight.
I like Winter and the snow in Second Life. You might be surprised to know that in the northern hemisphere the earth is closest to the sun during winter.
The word winter comes from the Germanic wintar (winter) which in turn is derived from the root wed meaning 'wet' or water', and so signifying a wet season.

Don't Sabotage your own happiness!
Playing a song of self-pity |
He came on strong and seemed so into you. Then suddenly he just vanished. Poof! Gone. This is one of the most aggravating things. Things are going great. You enjoy each other’s company and look forward to talking again. He seems to get you which feels great. While getting to know each other, you are having so much fun! Then he pulls away and you are left wondering what the heck happened. You examine every conversation looking for something you said or did wrong. You blame yourself even if you can’t find anything to point to that would cause this.
Trying to control a pumpkin is useless |
The most important step you need to take is to face any fear or self doubt and go ahead and take action, positive action. Remember to be clear about what you want and break it down into easy manageable steps and take each one then see what happens. I am not saying that any of this is easy. It isn’t , it requires you to work on your attitude and your thinking and to change. But if you believe in yourself, you can do anything you want. Happiness will come if you expect it.
Take time to think about who you are – your personality, your background, what makes you tick? |

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Remember we are here at the Club Mondays and Thursdays 8-10 PM SLT. |
When Americans sit down with their families for Thanksgiving dinner, most of them will probably gorge themselves on the same traditional Thanksgiving menu, with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and pumpkin pie taking up the most real estate on the plates. How did these dishes become the national "what you eat on Thanksgiving" options, though?
Most likely there were no turkeys like we know now around and the pilgrims for sure ate other things...no cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie either. They may have had some birds to eat but not even mashed potatoes were around. So Thanksgiving meal was totally commercialized and became an American thing.
The publication of A Christmas Carol in 1843 may have helped force along the turkey's cause as a holiday delicacy when Scrooge magnanimously sends the Cratchit family a Christmas turkey. Alexander Hamilton once remarked that, "No citizen of the U.S. shall refrain from turkey on Thanksgiving Day."
Time to be an original and stop eating turkeys and all those things that were dictated for you to have. Be you, eat Vegan :)I meant eat what you like and not because everybody else jumps off the bridge.
Oh, one thing for sure....being thankful is always appreciated no matter what you believe in...it is a moral obligation to yourself and humanity, so do it.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

There were some memories, though, that never faded.
You used to captivate me by your resonating light
Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase...
There's just too much that time cannot erase...
Once this place was filled with fun and friends and music, but now it is empty, cold and lonely.
“Memories warm you up from the inside. But they also tear you apart.”
“I miss that feeling of connection.
Knowing he was out there somewhere thinking about me at the same time I was thinking about him.”
Knowing he was out there somewhere thinking about me at the same time I was thinking about him.”

Take a Tylenol
Love can’t kill you? Think again there. The idea of “broken heart syndrome” has been around for ages, but it’s a real condition — known as “stress cardiomyopathy" in the medical community. Heartbroken lovers with stress cardiomyopathy have two to three times as much adrenaline in their blood as people who suffer from a classic heart attack, and they have seven to thirty-four times more adrenaline than normal individuals. What that mean? Taking a Tylenol actually might ease your emotional pain.
I am not sure that just taking a Tylenol will do the trick. There are so many more emotions and feelings that go into all of this. Your mind tricks you into believing that you "I'll never meet anyone else," "I'm too old/overweight/unattractive" or "I don't have time for a new relationship." The temptation is to shut down, open that bag of potato chips, pour that glass of wine, turn on the TV and give up on love.
For the mind, love is a dangerous path. The mind will advise you to avoid love, but this is even more dangerous, because love is the central core of our lives. A life without love is a life that is withered and dried up. Always choose love because even though there is pain, to suffer in love is not to suffer in vain; it takes you to higher levels of consciousness. There is a positive, creative outcome for you. If you choose the mind you will also suffer, but it will be useless suffering with an unproductive outcome. Life will be dull, and you will become neurotic from lack of love.
Time to put the struggle behind you and move on and do the things you love...most of all...LOVE yourself...I mean it really look at yourself and feel grateful for all the things you bring to this world. They are unique, they are special, they are you. Time to embrace it and stop taking pills to disguise the pain.
with love the world seem to bloom everywhere |
without love the world is cold and empty |
oh I see him...darn he ran as soon as he saw me :( |

Find your own story?
HYPERCUBE - Moki Yuitza
Into the labyrinth of mind
A personal journey through dreams, emotions, memories and nightmares in search of the path to the exit ... will you be able to find your own story?
(this place was really nice and yes I can find my own story here and you will too)
"Never dare to sell your soul for money, because no amount of wealth would buy you an air conditioner in hell." — Edmond Mbiaka
The term “soul” refers to something larger than the “heart.” While the "heart" is mainly focused on love (or more generally, emotions), the soul refers to an individual's whole personality and life in general. It is unclear exactly what we mean when we say that we give our heart or our soul.
I escaped the demons of hell as the punches and kicks were accompanied by crippling servings of "psychological warfare" - bullying and taunting behavior, including a technique known as gas-lighting, where someone is manipulated to the point that they question their own sanity.
Comparison is a killer to self-love. And we aren’t usually very nice when it comes to comparisons, right? Instead, we take our greatest flaws and compare them to someone else’s greatest success. In short, you’re doomed to fail.
My biggest fear is that I fail to recover completely and that I will drive people away because I want to be a better me and sometimes I can't and then hell is right back.

In Flanders Fields
12th Annual SL Veteran’s Tribute for 2018 from now until November November 13th. WWI 100 years Veterans Day
In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The only place I can call my own
There's a place where I go that no one else knows,
Where mysteries abound and excitement grows.
A place out of reach of any man's hands,
Safely secluded in a far away land
Beyond the grasp of those who may plunder
The wealth of its power and its life changing wonder.
I go alone to my secret place, never leaving a trace
For someone to follow and discover my space
Where I keep my secrets, my fears, and my regrets
Away from the world and all of its threats.
It's mine and mine alone!
The only place I can call my own.
I treasure the moments spent in this realm
Where anything is possible and I'm at the helm.
This place I describe is all that it seems ...
It's a magical place I call my dreams.
We had an interesting conversation about Second Life Drama and politics at its best. I can do without the drama for sure and nowadays expressing your political view may get you into trouble. This reminds me of the old German Democratic Republic, where you could not express your opinion at all. Sad that we live like this. There are so many beautiful things this world has to offer. There is enough for everybody, there really is. Why we not share it with all mankind and creatures is beyond me.

Où que tu sois, je te trouverai
Où que tu sois, je te trouverai
You came to me in that hour of need
When I was so lost, so lonely
You came to me, took my breath away
Showed me the right way, the way to lead
You filled my heart with love, showed me the light above
Now all I want is to be with you
You are my one true love, taught me to never judge
Now all I want is to be with you...
Wherever you are I'll find you Cause you're the one I turn to Wherever you be I'll be with you

Día de los Muertos
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is not a Mexican version of Halloween. Though related, the two annual events differ greatly in traditions and tone. Whereas Halloween is a dark night of terror and mischief, Day of the Dead festivities unfold over two days in an explosion of color and life-affirming joy. Sure, the theme is death, but the point is to demonstrate love and respect for deceased family members. In towns and cities throughout Mexico, revelers don funky makeup and costumes, hold parades and parties, sing and dance, and make offerings to lost loved ones.
We had some Second Life mishaps when the servers shut down and are possessed by the spirits. I guess that also happened Halloween. That make you wonder if there are some evil forces at work. We did have a fantastic set with some great tunes and as we all were able to log back in people showed up. Than k you for being there...
Remember we are here at the Club Mondays and Thursdays 8-10 PM SLT.

Let ecstasy fill you to the tips
You're the highlight of my lowlife
Take a shitty day and make it alright, yeah, alright
Oh, in every circumstance
Yeah, you make the difference
You're the highlight of my lowlife.
And I get so lonely
I can't make it on my own
And I need to call ya
"Can you come to my chateau?"
Take me in your arms and
Hold me tight, yeah, pull me close
Whisper in my ear
All I want you to say is
you're the highlight of my lowlife.
I want to know if you can be
with joy, mine or your own and
if you can dance with wildness
and let ecstasy fill you to the tips
of your fingers and toes without
cautioning us to be careful, be
realistic, to remember the
limitations of being human.
